Limited Scope Retainers

If you don't want or can't afford to hire a lawyer to handle your whole family law case, you can hire me on a limited basis to work on just one or two tasks in your case. Often I am able to quote a fixed fee in advance for a limited scope retainer matter because it is clear from the beginning how much work I need to do.

Some of the limited services you may want to have me handle include:

• Preparing and filing an Answer and Financial Statement after you are served with papers that start a court case. For ordinary cases, my legal fee for this step is usually $750.00 including HST provided you serve and file the materials yourself.
• Preparing and arguing a motion about temporary spousal or child support, disclosure of key documents, the sale of a house or any other matter
• Helping you to prepare for a trial that you plan to conduct yourself
• Getting the endorsement issued by a judge turned into a court order
• Legal advice and a roadmap for a case you will conduct yourself
• A service defined by you
